Fatdaddy I would probably go with that hook 7 for the bigger screen and gps if it has it. For your price range I don't think you could find much better.

I must not have what I think I have then - mine is second from right - never seen an 83 option though - must be my old unit or I'm just wrong. I know my HDS has the 83 selection but I never use that unit for sonar.

Does the ELITE 5 HDI have side scan for bait?? Overton has it on sale a regular 499.00 unit for 299.00 with a free sun screen !! What yal think !! Help please

Yep - no sidescan in that - Just downscan
You have go with an HDS Touch, older HDS + StructureScan or one of the newer Elite Ti units to get sidescan.

I know this is a longshot,but does anybody have/know of a working transducr and trans bracket for a x85 lowrance,it was the push on small black connector for these units back then.I have a working head unit,power cord and bracket that ill never use.These were a great small unit,3000/500rms watts,monochrome screen no gps,but used it with great success for years.If someone has one and would donate it to fatdddy I would donate the unit and only ask that he mail me the shipping cost after he makes sure it works and that he make an extra trip to the lake this year with the savings...kenny

Yes Striperjohn, I think a x65,x75,x85 transducer were all the same. It has to be working though I have one that is going out but will only show top & bottom,not worth sending to him.
Fatdaddy,calm down might take a few days to come together,found the head unit this morning. I want to find the rest and plug up to make sure its worth sending, everything worked but the power button, had to plug and unplug to turn it on and off. some of the transducers on ebay say new but if you zoom in on the plug they are not,that was the problem with these connectors they didn't lock on,some of the used ones are probally going or gone out and someone trying to make a buck.I'll get back with ya'll...........happy
