Those questions have been answered if you will go back on reports and read. As far as cats go some guys like myself havnt started fishing for them yet. As mike said in another post anyone that bass fishes wont give that info up untill after this weekends tournament. But this i will tell ya , sml predators love live bait. Good luck and tight lines

I'll be heading down Memorial Day weekend to do some fishing. I'm not sure about the bass. But for catfish i will be using nightcrawlers, chicken livers, cutbait(bluegill or white perch), and perhaps a live bluegill or two. If i can manage a few good throws off the dock at night, maybe some alewives. Its possible i may buy some minnows but doubtful. but my main bait will be nightcrawlers and livers. they always seem to work for me.
for bass, i will just chunk around a variety of artificials, which may or may not work lol
as for where they are at, i mostly will be fishing off a dock. and mostly at night for cats as the bite just seems better then. bass mostly in the day time. so being as i'm limited to a dock, i will just sit back and let the fish come to me...

Redbears bait advice is solid. Only thing I would add is crawfish. You can catch the heck out of them at SML. Make yourself a crawfish trap with a 2 liter bottle( just drill several small holes in it and tie a small rope to it), bait it with bacon and lower it into the water and let it go to the bottom. Don't put the cap on it. Crawfish will catch alot of fish at SML.

Don't put the cap on it. Crawfish will catch alot of fish at SML. i occasionally get a couple crawdads in the minnow trap off the side of the dock between trips down there. got 4 once. and it wasnt even baited. the one time i did bait it with bacon i got nothing lol. ive never caught a catfish on one though, had some bites for sure. did catch a bass on a dead crawdad once though. right off the bank near a tree downed in the water. i tossed the craw over there, curious bass comes looking at it, i gave it a small jerk to make it look like the craw was swimming, and the bass went absolutely ballistic on it, i sat there and watched it all, ive never seen a bass crush anything like this. at first he didnt get the whole crawdad in its mouth so i waited a second or two and he want ballistic again before inhaling the whole thing and then i set the hook. nice 3-lber... my only problem is, im not sure how to correctly hook a crawdad without killing it. if anyone knows how and can explain it, or even has a picture that would be great...

Hook them in the tail...from the bottom side, just below thier main body. Catfish will eat the heck out of em. We always use bacon and have pretty good luck. Another good bait is cat food.
The smallies will make short work of one too.
