4/2 and 4/3 BW

 better late than never on this report..... I arrived at the lake Friday night at about 8pm with one of my buddies who was taking leave from the coast guard and wasnt able to fish offshore due to weather. got the boat and bait tank all setup that night...on the water Saturday morning by 430am in order to catch some bait, which was fairly easy and by about 6am we had a tank full of about 10 gizzards 10"-15" a handful of money makers, and a few peanuts. we tried a new cove off the BW that is basically a large circular flat with 4-5 large points through it. We put out 3 bank side planers one inside planar and 1 float and action started before we could even get all baits in the water. in the frenzy of getting baits in the water and all the excitement of big fish busting our big gizzards on the surface, we missed 6 good hits, but we werent discouraged in the least bit as the action continued. pulled bait until about 2pm and the wind started up. ended up with 4 fish on the day. 33" 15lber, 31" 13lber, and a pair of 26" fish for dinner. 


Sunday was a bit of a different day. woke up about the same time and went to the same spot for bait with about the same success. we had really good looking bait, the fish just were not active. I think the cold front that moved in really put the fish in a different feeding pattern, and with the cold and wind we didnt have the energy to jump around and try and find em. we did manage to boat 2 fish at about 26" range on sunday to keep the skunk out of the boat.


All and all it was a great weekend at the lake.



One a side note, can anyone instruct me on how to get a picture in my post? i'm having a hard time here. Thanks guys.

Couple of options.

The easiest appears to be to use the Tapatalk app to view the forum - you can upload the pic and it will host the image on their site and put all the magical link info in your post.

Alternative what I use is Photobucket - I upload my pics and last in the image link instructions are in the Tips and info section at the top of the forum..... The specific images there may be a little out of date but should be close enough to figure it out from those instructions

Nice report! Might have to start toning these reports down or else the Roanoke fleet may decide to come invade our waters lol!!

About the pics - I can't get the Tapatalk app to find this forum - the screenshots Tyler posted are from an iPhone and I am on Android so that may be the issue as others are having issues as well.

If you are going to use Photobucket, download the Photobucket app and tie your account to it - automatically uploads pics from your phone to their server from a WiFi connection so when you go to make a post they are automatically there and you don't have to send them to your email etc etc.

When you want to add a photo from Photobucket use the bottom of the 4 link/URL options and just copy/paste the URL where you want the pic to go.

Really easy once you've done it a couple times.

drag - I have literally tried everything I can think of to try and get Tapatalk to find this website and havent had any success. I've added many other forums that I go to with no problem.

I would love to try and figure this out as while Photobucket is not "hard" it is a bit cumbersome.

coheasion - are you searching ofr "smlfishingforums" - or "smlfishingforums.proboards.com" ? The latter is how it shows on my app (on iPhone) though I don't recall how I initially searched for it.....

I was having the same issue as Coheasion but searched "smlfishingforums.proboards.com" and was able to find the forum. Thanks for the help.

I shouldn't of put the pic up on Lund 2's report (Sorry). I am trying to learn to use Tapatalk myself.

Thanks they were fun to catch, the Walleyes and SMB came from Philpott Lake a few years ago.

Keep trying. It took several attempts for me but it finally found the message board.

Ha!! Just figured it out. Opened the forums in my normal Chrome browser in my phone and it asked if I wanted to open it in the Tapatalk app.
