Put in about 12:00 today and fished until about 5:00 pm. Not much to report. Fished shakey head, spinnerbait, jerkbait, and Texas rig on points, around docks, and rip rap banks near the bridge. Water temp. was about 58 around bridge area. Moved further up the Roanoke and found some warmer water, still pretty clear. Fished same lures with no bites. Son was fishing with live bait and didn't get many bites also. As we were taking out at public ramp there were about 3 to 5 boats putting in to fish for stripers, evening striper bite must be good!! Thought we might run into a few fish shallow. Hopefully can figure something out in the coming weeks. Beautiful day to be on the water even if we didn't get many bites.
Be Safe and Tight Lines.

Thank you for posting this.
Keep a bucktail or thunderstick style lure ready this time of year. You might find some striper chasing bait. Nothing like a good striper fight.
Thank you again for reporting.

Will do! Glad to report, I know most guys get tight lipped this time of year. I fish for the fun of it, just would like to get a few more bites to make it less frustrating of a day. Oh well, that is fishing. One day I will have one of those 25 to 30 fish days, gotta believe!! I appreciate your reports as well, they always provide a stating point when I head to SML. May fish Blackwater side more this year, not much luck on Roanoke side lately...
Be safe and good luck!!
