Just a little update,I upgraded the unit today and got a little surprise the $512 was to swap out head unit if I wanted the gimbal bracket for the 9 (I did) it was 50 bucks more,plus tax the whole bill came to $618 and I paid an another $44 to ship and insure ground.
Lowrance has outsourced this to a company in LA,california,and the unit is newly refurbished with 6 months warranty or ever how much warranty you have left on the old warranty.Still cant belive a new unit went out in 9 months,i haven't got to fish that much but I've got 15 months left on this one so hope I have better luck.Read the fine print if you send a new unit back for any reason,you might not get the same or a new unit back.
I know i'll be happier with the larger screen and am glad I bought it when they were starting to clearance the GEN 2's and only had $870 in the hds7 bundle.
