I went through the pool noodles, etc etc but they are difficult to store for me and were just a PIA. Made by Plano. I have two of them, one for 1/0-5/0 hooks, and one for 6/0-7/0 hooks. The bigger hooks take up a bit of space. You get 18 of those leader storage units and can put 4 leaders per unit. You stack three units each. You slip the hook over one end, wrap it up and the tag end slips in a slot to hold it tight. I keep a couple small packs of dessicant in each box to dry any moisture that gets in. Just thought I'd show this because of the discussion on other threads. This is in a 3600 box. Just google Plano storage box and quite a few places sale them for like 8.99 to 15.00.

Good post John - when I took a quick look I did not realize you could put multiple per "board" - doing so gets you a fair bit of density....

Yeah I love it. I usually tie up about 36 leaders and put two on each holder. But going to Tennessee one spring I put 4 on each one.

Thanks John. After rat nests upon rat nests in the field, I gave up on tying leaders at home. I always thought it better to tie when the adrenaline is low. Will give this a try!

Hey John, I've been shopping for a similar box but having a hard time finding one. Do you have a better pic so I can better understand what I'm looking for. Thanks

Go on amazon.com and search plano snell rig holder. A few different types but all basically the same with 18 holders.

Looks like that would be a lot nicer than using ziplock bags.

Yeah you can put 4 leaders on per holder with 5/0 and under hook sizes for total 72 leaders with hooks. But only two for the bigger sizes. I use dental bands to secure the tag end of the leader because the slit they put in the holders sometimes is not deep enough.
