If I understand your question correctly, it actually "squares out" at 1 inch. The 2 inch is the stretch, whereas, should you stretch the corners it equals 2 inches. Correct! Be wary of quick answers Especially from a professor I'll have you know that I read Lund's post with thought. And the phrase "squares out" did not fit the context. Thus, I replaced "squares" with "stretches" and answered accordingly.

Did I read somewhere here that there is a discount to members? any advice on where to buy it? thank you and I hope 2016 will be a great year for everyone!

Yam interpreted my improperly asked question correctly.... I meant stretches but didn't know the term. I've been throwing my TW 5/8 1.5 for a while and never catch anything deep. I know this was thoroughly addressed in part posts but I didn't really get it. I do now......10', 1" ( stretches to 2") , 1.5 ( maybe less) is the deep water spec.. A lighter mesh falls even faster but is not as versatile for other uses. Not sure I get that.... Is it because it's so prone to rip on any hang ups? Is that the only reason?

A lighter mesh creates less drag as it falls, thus it falls faster than heavier mesh. This keeps it open longer as it falls. A light 1" mesh is very versatile in that it performs extremely well in both deep and shallow water. The only issue I have found with lighter mesh is that it rips too easily. If you get it snagged on a tree, you are looking at major surgery versus a minor repair with a heavier mesh.
