Was able to get some half way decent bait last night. I have found over the last several weeks that bait is coming in early to the lights prior to 11 pm and nothing after. Headed up the Roanoke no one was at B&B or around the bridge... Continued up to r39 marked several schools of bait and stripers but no takers using down lines and Planer boards.. Went further up to Beaver Dam Creek did not see a fish caught the smell of skunk permeated the boat... We have a nice week coming up will try closer to home... Tight lines everyone

JB, I think all reports are better then none. Some of the folks only report when they're catching fish. I try to report any and all I do. Many times my boat stinks all the way home. ;D I think by reporting when, where and how you tried to catch it helps all of us, at least we know what didn't work. I live over in Farmville so I have a long drive over. I don't have a problem letting people know where I was or wasn't catching fish. It should helps others like me that have to come a lone way. Thanks for the report. On one of the boards in Tennessee (raised and love) they have a phone swap page where guys swap cell phone numbers. Then they have a "going fishing day page". Then when guys are going they can look to see who else is on the water that day and call to swap information. My brother-in-law is on that board and it works great for him. He's a self employed gunsmith and can't get out as long as he wants. They have some sort of agreement where you only pass info like "they're busting all over at R43" with one other guy. Hopefully that keeps from arriving to see a flotilla. Oh yeah one other thing on that board--if a guy is going and has room for others they hook up to fish together, share gas money etc.

Good ideas John. I'm definitely open to something along those lines for members. We'll see what we can come up with. Thanks for sharing the idea.

I live on the water near R 27 and don't have a real boat but I have some tackle and gas $ and can try not to be a total moron on the water if anyone wants another on their trip send a message. Usually work week, off weekends, esp Sun, but I have some flexibility during the week, depending.

This really is a good idea. Text messaging would work great here also. It can also work if fish aren't in a certain area, or are not biting in that area. I passed a guy early Saturday in a nice blue CC that told me he had been at Beaverdam and caught a few but they had shut off. Although I went to Beaverdam anyway it was good info. Right after talking to him he caught about a 10 pounder in the same area that we caught our's later in the day. The amount of gas dollars that we spend on the water is a concern. A phone call or a text could save someone $20. I know I would appreciate that.

Just to let everyone know, there is a submerged tree between the trestles. It is only a couple of inches under the water and it is eating lots of hooks and sinkers especially if you are trolling or running planner boards. I know because it ate my hook and sinker on Sunday. You can find it by looking at where there is some exposed rock on the mountain side and there are two tree that are yellow. The tree is about fifty feet from the shore line on the mountain side. The main trunk is so close to the top of the water boats on plane are hitting it and the trunk is big enough to take out a lower unit. To go around it if you are using planer boards you should go as close to the none mountain shore as possible. Be careful.
