Every fisherman likes to brag just a little, but the fishing reports that are posted on here contain important tidbits for the novice fisherman and that's why they are posted. The guys that catch fish somewhat consistently have been fishing a long time or have had a lot of help from someone who has. That's why everyone shares so much info, they want to see folks catch fish, but in a responsible manner. There is no better teacher than time on the water........No one ( I know I did on gills creek, but I rarely ever fish the darkside anymore ) is going to post a specific location where they are catching fish on an open board......It will start to click, gotta just keep chugin"......

I agree. I learn something every time. Good or bad. It's tough when life gets in the way of fishing. I only get to go about once a month.

I feel your pain jason, You just described everyone on this site. I would call most everyone of us on here weekend fisherman, some less than that, some a little more. The bad thing is the fish we chase don't take a day off and are constantly moving. This is the best site around for fishing SML. Lots of good folks with invaluable experience on the lake willing to share......Quite a lot of new members signing up......best thing I can say is don't be shy and join in. Get to be friends with some folks on here.....lots of info is shared behind the scenes.

Mid Nov.-Dec.....tons of bait back there.!!!! but hey, store the bait rods back there, the fish will be shallow......it's time to cast. Coming out of there during Thanksgiving week one year they came up in the big cove ( on left going in , with the buoy markers). There were 4 of us in the boat and the fish stayed up prolly an hour ;D lots of fun.....birds diving everywhere. Dang, I can hardly wait thinking bout it.

Bigun, you forgot that some of us are just plain crazy too when it comes to Striper fishing. I just spent the evening building a new 100gallon bait tank. Gizzard shad are in trouble tomorrow.
Biguns right though. I catch fish a lot more often than I don't nowadays but I've spent countless hours chasing these fish on SML and it wasn't always so easy. I've had a lot of help along the way too from some really good fisherman. These are some crazy fish and as soon as you think you've figured em out, they'll teach you a lesson.

Yeah I probably will put a lock on it. I have a 250gal tank too but it requires too much maintenance. This 100gal is gonna be easy to run I think and should keep plenty of bait.
