Goes to show ya,you don't need a $30,000 rig to catch a striper. But that's how most of us ended up in one!!Great vid it's on now. If you put a swivel and a bead 5 or 6 ft from your bait, the board want slide down to the fish,it can dehook'em before you want to sometimes.don't ask how I know?

I'll second the bead and swivel.... or go with line to hook and don't use a pigtail to hold the board to the line, just let the board pop loose, but then you have to chase the board down after catching the fish. Lots of good stuff there - always nice to catch one with a new technique. And it's always a challenge to manage it all by yourself - my main suggestion would be to keep that measuring tape/board a little more handy so you can measure the fish a little quicker and get him back in the water if needed I'll say - I was afraid there at one point that you were going to join me in the "fell in the water club" when I saw you leaning over the side of the boat

Big 10-4 on the measuring thing !! That was almost a fatal mistake for the fish If it would of being summer it wouldn,t survive but it did swim off fine after I worked it for a few There will be a permanent measuring board on board next time for sure !!!!How long of a ledder should I use on my boards ?? & then stop board 6 feet back with a swivel & Bead correct !! ?? Thanks guys yal going to teach this old guy something for sure !! Love this sight !!! Yam is the man !!!

Just saw your video. You seemed rather disappointed to have to throw your fish back. However, the joy from catching that fish was awesome. If you can find a way to get the same joy when releasing the fish as you do catching the fish, your boat would radiate Jesus rainbows.

That's a good one Yam !! I was inspired by your videos to try & Make one !!My biggest trouble was to catch a fish !! But yel you was right !! Them rules are tough sometimes !! But I can live with them !! I Know It was the right thing to do !! I just wish I would of being set up a little better to measure the fish !! That will Defently be different the next time !!! I,m also glad it wasn,t summer weather I would of killed it keeping it out that long !! But it released & swam off just fine !! Maybe I,ll get back up that way & Try to make another video !! But better !!!Thanks Everbody & God Bless !!
