I have a question for all you electronics guru's out there. I currently have and HDS 7 in dash Gen 2 with LSS1 box and downscan and side scan. i just purchased a new HDS gen 2 touch that i am going to install so i can have downscan on 1 and traditional sonar on the second. My question is, do i use the LSS1 box with the touch or can i just direct connect my downscan transducer to the touch? i know it is capable of running downscan without the box but since my transducer is older i am not sure if it compatible? it is hard for me to water test this, so i would figure i would ask! thanks

You can connect the Lss-1 xducer to the Touch but you need an adapter cable.
Some say the lss-1 box / xducer combo is superior to the lss-2, so you may want to keep the LSS-1 box and connect the two HDS units over Ethernet - most likely via the LSS box.
You could connected LSS xducer to the Touch but you need an adapter cable. Then you could get rid of the LSS box and connect the hds units via Ethernet only.

Also - once networked you can view the regular sonar on either unit - and same with Structurescan
Honestly I'd suggest doing a split screen of regular sonar and downscan on one, and dedicate the other for side scan.
