We are just over a week out from the 1st event and have had a few questions from some folks over the last week on details, so we thought it was time to nail a few things down.
Pre-Registration:
- Not mandatory, but it will help us both out if you go to the website ( www.smlstripermafia.com/registration.html ) and pre-register - it will help us in planning, allow us to be able to directly contact you ahead of the tournament if needed and with last minute information, and most importantly it will speed up the Captain's Meeting process and get you in and out quicker.
- You do not pay at the time of pre-registration, and if something changes with your team members, we can adjust or if something comes up with family or illness, etc and you can't make it - we understand (though do us a favor and let us know so we know).
Captains Meetings:
- We will have two meetings to have some flexibility for folks that will be fishing remote parts of the lake - Each team MUST have a representative at ONE (but not both) of the meetings. Ideally the captain, but OK to be a team member.
- If the whole team is not there, you will need to bring the release form already completed & signed by all team-members.
- Release forms and copies of the Rules will be available at the Captain's meetings. Final copies will be posted to the Website by early next week.
- Both meetings will be held at the Halesford Harbor Inn docks - or up on the patio if it is raining
- 1st meeting - Friday evening - 9:30 pm - 10:30pm
- 2nd meeting - Saturday morning - 4:45a - 5:45a
- Team will sign in, pay tournament entry fee (and big fish fee if desired) - in CASH (no checks, credit-cards), pick up the measuring device & token card
- Smaller bills (less than $100's) will be strongly desired so we can more easily make change for the payouts
Safe Light / Lines In:
- will lock this down over the weekend based on confirming ambient light, but we are looking at 6:15 am for lines-in - just want to confirm light and account for day-light savings time change that happens this weekend
Token Code:
- this will be sent via Text Message, Posted on Facebook, the Website & the forum in this section 15 minutes before Lines In. You will also have our cell-phone numbers to call if needed. If you plan to be staged in an area before Safe Light where you don't have cell signal, then you need to reconsider - 15 minutes should allow you time to re-position once we release the token code and still be fishing by Lines In
- You will be provided with a laminated token card & grease pencil so that you can write your Team Name & the token code onto the card.
- The token card MUST be clearly visible in all pictures of the fish submitted or the fish won't count (even if on the measuring device).
Catch-Photo-Release Format:
- You are responsible for ensuring that your photos are clearly legible, with no obscuring of the fish's head against the bump-bar or tail on the measurement - the measurements must be clearly readable in the picture.
- The token card that has your team name and the token code must be clearly visible in the picture
- make sure your camera (or camera phone) is well charged and you have a way to keep it charged throughout the day. We can't be responsible if your camera dies and then you catch that 42" fish
- the fish must clearly be "just caught" when in the picture. You are welcome to keep any legal fish should you wish, but you must take the picture immediately upon catch - not toss it in the cooler and then take the pic hours later at the dock
Lie Detector / Polygraph Test:
- Had a few questions on this. The rules already state that we reserve the right to conduct a polygraph on any money winner. To be clear, we WILL be conducting a polygraph at one or more events. Personally I hate we even need to consider it, but the integrity of the event is important to us, our sponsors and to you as participants. If you feel you need to cheat, then please don't participate in our events.
If you have questions, please feel free to ask - drop a PM here, post the question here, etc......
