Has anyone had a 83/200 transducer go bad? If so what symptoms did it have? Will a transducer. Not pick up at all or does it act like sensitive is at 100% all the time?

I have seen them go bad, just not on my boat. What unit do you have? I have a nearly new HST-WSBL (83/200) hanging around if need be. When they go bad you normally start to see MORE than what is actually down there (arches that don't exist). I think the resistance is what goes bad. Ask archenemy he will tell ya the same thing happened when his 83/200 went on him.

They do "burn out" over time. I've seen them also just fade to where you don't see what is there....

Its on my hds8 gen 1 . IT just shows all kind of clutter can't adjust it to to read anything but bottom track. I had hit the transducer last time out it kicked up but all looked fine. This morning it was just blah..

Sounds like it's done. But before changing it - get a new one and connect and drop in water to make sure it's the xducer and not the unit.

Should be a tag on the cable where it connects to the head unit. At least mine have all had a tag.
