Buzz Baits for Stripers?

Has anyone tried using (top water) buzz baits for stripers? I used to have moderate success with them on largemouth/smallmouth in other bodies of water. I was just wondering what stripers would think of them.

I tried them on breaking topwater stripers years ago and the fish tore them up. Broke the spinner blade off, bent the wire, twisted the hook off. They're actually pretty fragile, but yes they'll hit them.
