Fished philpott today. Caught several on flukes and wacky worms around laydowns. Caught a couple good fish on a spook on bluffs and ended the day with a nice 6.9 pound fish on a shakey head on a point. Another good day on the water!

It is definitely a tough lake to figure out. I have caught some nice fish there this spring. I caught an 8.3 in early march. I live 5 minutes from the lake and fish it every week. It has been good to me this spring but it definitely has had me scratching my head before too.

We have a club tournament there in October. Have not been there in several years, but always a beautiful place whether the fish are biting or not.

October can be really good on philpott. Especially if the water has cooled down much. Philpott is best in my opinion during the winter months. December thru March can be awesome. The thing about philpott is when you think your fishing deep enough fish even deeper. I have caught fish in 60 to 80 ft of water on that lake.
