I was lucky enough to take to OUPV Captains course with Danny and never knew that he was also Cornelia Gale on the forum. Knowledgable and gracious guy who will be missed. My wishes go out to his family and friends.

Damn.
I never met Danny but he and I pm'ed each other a few times. I'll never forget how went out of his way to offer to safety check my boat...family issues screwed up my timetable to do that on the usual schedules.
I meant what I said. I said a rosary on his behalf. I guess the old saying is true. All of our prayers are answered. And sometimes the answer is "no".
RIP Danny. I hope you got a beautiful cabin in heaven, on a lake full of stripers, and a very comfortable pontoon boat to catch them in.

Terribly sorry to hear this. He was a kind man, and a true ambassador for the lake. Will keep his family in our prayers.

I echo what many others have said. I appreciated his insight on this forum although I had never met him. Based on what I have read over the years, his contributions to the lake and fishing community amongst others I'm sure will be truly missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I am humbled by the outpouring of condolences for a man many of us have never met. For those of us that never met him we feel we knew him, trusted his guidance, and respected his knowledge.
There many others on this forum that I can say the same about and in no way I am I taking anything away from Danny. This is a testament to those that have spent countless hours working to ensure this forum remains positive, informative, and most importantly a place where we can all come to learn, share ideas, and catch some fish. Those responsible know who you are and I thank you.
Tight lines.

Last week I compiled all your comments above and sent them, along with a condolence card, to Danny's wife - so that she could know what he meant to the folks here.
I wanted to pass along a note I received from her today....
