We just found out that one of our own here - Danny Foster aka CorneliaGale, passed away yesterday, 4/15. As you likely know from his recent post, he had some serious heart issues. I don't know a lot of details as of now, but am taken aback. Danny was a great, caring guy that was always willing to give some helpful advice and welcomed every new member here on the site. He was always "just about to get back out fishing" and spent many, many of his free hours out on the water with the USCG-AUX helping to look after everyone's safety. UPDATE: The Memorial Service will be this Saturday, 11 am at Pine Spur Hunt Club which is just off Jeters Chapel Rd. in Vinton. (I believe this is the correct address - 1049 Pine Spur Road, Vinton, VA) Obituary: www.roanoke.com/obituaries/foster-danny-leo/article_404249cb-d6c1-5501-b1c6-23927fa3e70e.htmlTight Lines Danny.......

I never met Danny but from his posts he always seemed to have a kind and generous servant soul.
Prayers to his family.

OMG...this is terrible news. I really thought he was going to be okay... Very sad.
He was such a gracious host for this site and I feel honored that I had the pleasure of meeting him in person before he left us.

Sad news indeed. Danny was one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. For years, you could always count on waking up to a few new posts from Corneligale due to his late night work schedule. He spent countless hours volunteering his time to keep us safer on the lake. I feel blessed to have spent some time with him on a few occasions. He will definitely be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

SEMPER PARATUS--- "ALWAYS READY" "You have to go out, but you don't have to come back". Two Coast Guard Mottos. I was joking around with Danny once when I got a free boat check. I said "you know why all you Coasties are so tall? So if your ship goes down you can walk ashore!" Always witty he said "yeah but if wasn't for us Coasties as you call it, LOL, you Navy guys would never find your way back to port!" GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU.
