I know everyone wants to hit the water and wants to know where they can get in or not...... Let's consolidate some of these threads on ice-conditions into a couple, vs. everyone posting a new thread on a different sub-forum.......

I did go by Hardy and Oak Grove this afternoon. Hardy was a no. Oak Grove a yes. Was going down to Magnum but really needed to get home to feed the boys. Oh, Bigun, I meant my bulls. !!! hmmmmm? That Oak Ridge ramp is loaded with deer too. I saw 16 at the ramp entrance(didn't get a pic) and another 8 at the parking lot up top.

nice! thanks, sounds like i need to find a place to deer hunt around the ramp! Please do - I can't tell you how many times I've changed my britches over those dang things. They like to hang in the fields n woods up from the house. Usually a solid 10-15 from 122 to Oldfield.

Anybody know if magnum/blackwater marina ramp is frozen?
Or if it's iced around B41?
I need to pull the boat home for service but that's a long ways to drive For nothing.

Can't help you on B41 but just came off the water and on the Roanoke side and the main creeks from Grimes to the bridge were mostly clear except for small shady cuts / pockets. Main channel was suprisingly clear of any debris even with water levels up at full pond. Indian was open on well back past the marina and Campers is open back past has pumps except for some ice along the bank. Water tempos about 41.

I'll let you know tomorrow. Heading up that way. Things look good at our house around B23.

Haven't been up to the Magnum, but our cove at B11-13 is ice free.

Past B38 is spotty. May be able to get through because it's really thin but I didn't try. When it warms up this afternoon it should be ok.

Went by Hardy, was ice in the cove at the ramp, most was gone this afternoon, water very muddy with a lot of junk floating, didn't see no big stuff but would be very careful if I fished up that way.
