James in Big Island has finally come back down to below my "safe" levels and working a weird schedule this week left me able to go and fish the area yesterday afternoon. Put in at the GP plant.
Water was clear with sunny skies and some wind blowing in a down river direction. Air temp was 43deg. Paddle up river and waded to get to the bridge. Fished a couple of deep holes there with no success. Decided to wade up the ledge and move on up towards the power plant dam which has some deep holes. Well never made it. Wound up turtling and having a yard sale. Luckily was able to recover everything. I had gone to step out of the yak onto a rock to wade up through another swift section and lost my footing with my weight on the side of the yak. Why it's import to always have a change of clothes in a dry bag while out on the water, you never know what might happen.
