Nice video! That got my heart pumping. I enjoyed the team work as well. What do you have your fps set to on your camera?

I have found the basic 1080 to be the best. In the day I run 60 fps. As it gets darker I lower. Evening.. 30. Dusk lower.
Just a tip in case you didn't already know.

Hey, great tip! I kinda just run it as it is, especially when the stripers are busting right in front of me! I Just checked - 60fps. But now that I know, I will definitely play around with it!

Saw a guy a couple years ago catch a 59 lb King Salmon on the Gulkana river in Alaska with a fly rod. The river was flowing 7-8 knots and the fish made 7 runs of over 200 yards downstream on him. the fight lasted almost and hour. He was having a blast. Everyone on the riverbank quit fishing while we watched him fight and land the fish. Takes a great deal of skill and touch (when to pressure the fish and when not), I can tell you that.

When it comes together it is pretty darned cool. Something about that long rod doubled over on a monster fish. Hoping to get out tomorrow evening.

I haven't been to SML for about three years but planning on coming down a couple of times this year. Maybe I'll bring the fly rod along. I'll be in a kayak though.
Thanks for the video and info.

I've been fishing from my paddleboard for a couple of years now - mostly for sunfish, bass and shad on the james. I use a 3wt outfit for that but looking to procure a 9wt and start getting after the stripers on the lake. Any thoughts on patterns, flies that are working well right now? I'll be fishing this upcoming weekend early in the morning. Thanks!
