Got a good deal on a 50 gallon creek bank today. My question is what size pump works best? It has a 750 on it now but it doesn't seem like it filters as good as my 35 sbtII. With a 500...Thanks

When you say it doesn't filter as good, what do you mean? A 500gph pump is standard on a 50gal Creekbank.

It's as if it's not drawing very strong. You can feel the suction on my sbt2 outta the bait side but not so much on creek bank.

I had the same problem with a 30 gallon creekbank that I bought a couple years ago. I tried a couple different pumps and tried to modify the piping as well and never could get it to suck scales into the filter. I unloaded it and bought another 30 gallon creekbank and it worked just fine. There was a very noticeable difference in water clarity and bait health with the second tank.
I've had 4 creekbanks, 2 didn't impress me with the filtering and 2 were awesome.

I have a Creekbank and a Super II and not sure what you mean by suction on the filter. It's an overflow design. I need greater explanation unless you're talking about suction related to the aerator. Is the pump still good? What type of filter material are you using..this is important on the Creekbank..it doesn't work like a Super II as it filters horizontally instead of vertically.

The pump is good. It has great pressure when it is pumped back in the bait side. But if you put your hand over where it pulls the water from the bait side to filter side it doesn't feel like it has much suction. it has great flow into the filter trap. But still leaves sediment on the bottom of the bait side. I haven't put bait in it yet. I've only filled with well water and had a little debris in there to see how well it cycled. Wasn't impressed

Ah I gotcha..didnt realize you were talking about the intake. My Super II and Creekbank are about equal in this department. Both will leave a sediment pile in the bottom on large loads. Doesnt diminish their ability to keep good bait though as the majority is pulled through. Maybe a clog thats hurting the pressure? I doubt you'll find one that will suck everything out into the filter though.

I also have a quick Venturi question too. Where can I find some sort of ball valve to use to splice into the Venturi line so I can control airflow. Thanks for any help

Thanks for any help The SBT-II's use a livewell air control valve - But a cheap plastic aquarium air valve would work. That said - I run mine wide open - the more air the better

Thanks mward. I was just worried about air temp bringing my tank temp up or down. I never used the Venturi on my Sbt and hadn't had a problem. I think I'm gonna test drive this tank a few times but there might be a tank up for grabs in near future.

It will affect the temp some - not sure that reducing the air is worth the trade-off though.

You'll be much better off with Max air then whatever slight temp rise you may have bc of it.

Max = maximum - Just mean not throttling it back - didn't mean to capitalize "Max"
