Finally got back on the lake this past weekend for the 2nd time this summer and was able to put a few hours in each morning.
Fished live bait. Bait was tough but managed about 3 dozen nice ales each morning on deep water lights.
Saturday morning- fished lower black water , set bait at 40 ft caught 6 fish . Don't normally keep fish but we kept 2 that we could not release quick enough due to hook set. They were very tasty!
Sunday morning- fished same area again , bait set 30-40ft 15 stripers, 1 large green fish , speedy releases on all but 2 stripers again due to hookset and fear they would not make it.
Water temps were around 81
Sure was awesome to be back on the lake and catching fish!

Sounds like a couple of good days on the water - nice job.
Since I have a place on Gills Creek I fish the Blackwater as well. Just wondering if you found a large school of fish or was it more random?
