Havnt been to Leesville since the winter so figured Id check things out a bit. Sad I did. Put in at the Pittsville ramp (PITA x10) and knew better from the start. Barely made it to the mouth of the cove before hitting debris and trash. It stayed THICK , almost bank to bank in spots all the way to 3 pipes. Made a u turn and headed back to the ramp as I didnt want to risk running through the crap after dark. Ran by Pitstop where it now looks like he wants $10 to use the ramp, Ill pass. Put in at the dam. Marked scattered schools of bait, in usual spots with some decent schools mid lake. Marked a few "bigger fish" but nothing worth stopping for. The calm water and limited boat traffic was certainly a breathe of fresh air. Just wish they'd clean it up a bit.

Yup....if you or a group question AEP they are quick to tell you it's a pump storage lake and that's all it's for.....land owners had them by the nads on that 50 year license agreement ....far as I'm concerned they let it slip threw their fingers by not getting something done.... Maybe in the next 50 years when it's fuel again......

I really worry about those weekenders out there not familiar with the hazards. I cant imagine hitting that stuff on a tube or with skis. I guess the summer is the time to avoid it with the constant pumping and junk...I really want to night fish there but not if I have to putter around and fear for my life constantly.

Yeah you have to scout where ya gonna fish before dark and then there is no guarentee you saw everything in the daylight.....and I've seen them raise or drop the lake 12 feet in about 3-4 hours....when it's that dramatic it's no telling what was high and dry before is floating now
