I was just reading some of these threads and was amazed that there is almost no action in the catfish section. I would have thought there would be a lot of catfishermen around here.

If the lake was full of blues maybe! But most of us cat-ers hit the James or Buggz this time of year! Flathead bite is not to far off and there may be a post pop up from time to time!

Yea Chip, it's me. How you been? Fished for 10 hours last Friday and never got a bite. I should have targeted Stripers but I was taking a 15 year old kid out on his first fishing trip and didn't wanting him losing all my lures!

About a week ago my son caught a 9 lb flathead off the dock, and the next day I got about a 3 lb'er. So they are around. We used ales.

2 more on rip rap with ales. All eating size, no fighters yet. Gonna beat the front tonight with a full moon. Should have some luck.

3-6 lbs. Best size for eating. Release the big fish over 10lbs

Hooked and lost a nice channel last night ..looked to go about 5-6lbs. Using ales in 6 foot of water near a boat dock..thought I hooked the dock but alas..made it to the boat but hook popped at the last second.
