Made a few casts this past weekend while finishing the break-in of my new boat in the warmer air temperature. Difficult to find water above 45 degrees. Had a couple of hits on deep driving crankbaits but nothing too serious. Made a run up Bull Run Creek - hadn't been up there for a while and had forgotten how undeveloped it still is.
This guy is just waiting for the water to get closer to 50. Good luck everyone.

I was on the lake & mostly in Bull Run as well this past weekend. I got a few 'bumps' on a jerk bait while it was sitting motionless but couldn't get a real bite Looks like it's gonna be at least another couple of weeks or so before the temps get up to 50...

Does anyone know of a website that will track water temperatures back a few years?

Does anyone know of a website that will track water temperatures back a few years? The Striper Club collects and logs water temps on a fairly regular basis... this info is available via the Club's Facebook page in the "Notes" area - www.facebook.com/SmithMountainStriperClub/notes Also on the Club's Website - www.smithmountainstriperclub.com/water-temps.htmlData goes back to Sept 2011 on the Facebook page - but only mid-2012 on the Website (that's when I put together the website and never have had the time to go back and add in older entries between Sept 2011 and mid-2012).

Yup, sorry bout that, I did mean water temps. Also, thanks again to mward for posting that link. Although I've been fishing to 40' deep with no luck, I don't see why any LM bass would go deep this time of year when according to those charts, the water is the warmest on top...? I dunno, I sure can't find them this time of year. This 2 winters in a row I haven't had any luck.
