I've got to tell you, I'm sorry I asked the original question concerning yo yos in the first place. I saw the device being used on a youtube channel, and I was just wondering whether they were legal in Va. I think it's fair to say there are some very strong opinions regarding these devices, almost bordering on hostility. Since I started the thread, I'm going to ask one of the board's monitors or administrators to remove the thread in its entirety just to remove any traces of mention of the devices and to preserve some harmony in the SML fishing forum community. No Harm No FOUL man, We all know everyone here is passionate about our striper fishery and that is what makes it so successful. Discussions like these are good to have as it educates new fisherman as well as older fisherman. As was said earlier these things could have their purpose as in a survival situation or primitive camping situation. Maybe turtle catching round the pond. Just not really for striper fishing which Im sure they were not intended for anyways. Trot lines, limb lines, and these things are all categorized the same I guess and really are becoming a thing of the past with the older generations, since fishing now is really more of a sport than actually feeding of families.

Well said Shadslinger - my thoughts as well - no need to drop the thread.... everyone is entitled to their opinions and these type of discussions get topics out there and educate in various ways. Heck - this thread didn't even get close to hostile compared to some of the past
