I've got an HDS 7 Gen 1, and I'd like the structure scan setup for it. Either the LSS1 or 2. If anybody has one or is upgrading, please let me know.
Thanks, Blair

Thanks mward. Any idea on who could install locally? Or is it a pretty easy install? Not sure where I'd mount the transducer for best results...

Install is easy - but Ben at SML Marine Electronics could do it I expect.

Mward, Any idea what I need to get it installed? Does the system come with all the cables etc to set it up?

A new unit has everything - with a caveat that the provided ethernet cable is long enough for where your HDS head unit is and where you plan to install the LSS box.... I think it comes with a 6' cable but could be wrong.
Obviously, with a used unit you need to ensure h 's providing the power cable (for the LSS box) and the Ethernet cable (the enet cable was in the pic in the post). I guess it is also worth confirming the lenght of the power cable as it could have been cut shorter, requiring you to extend it, etc.
The install is easy though... power cable for the LSS box - black to ground, red to power (or a switched power source) with fuse, yellow to the HDS's power cable yellow, or connect it to a switched power source; mount the LSS xduer and route the cable to the LSS box and connect. Connect the Ethernet cable from the LSS box to the HDS.....

Thanks! It sure is tempting, seeing all the pics you guys are posting with it. Anybody interested in giving me a crash course in how to use it once I get it?

As a heads up, the one that mward posted a link to on THT has been sold. Somebody beat me to it.

You dodged a bullet.
I offered the guy $300 and he accepted it (which surprised me). I just received it and the transducer is cracked in half and it is missing the $40 power cable.
I guess that's what I get for buying it out from under you :/

Brian - sorry to hear man... Make him make it right or light him up on THT. They don't take too kindly to that kind of crap over there.

He says it wasn't cracked when he shipped it. He quickly issued a refund with no argument, which makes me think he honestly didn't notice the huge crack across the middle of it. It is definitely possible that it was damaged in shipping since it was just tossed in a flat rate box with no packing material. I would have thought it would be tough enough for that. Anyway, I was feeling a little guilty for snagging it to use on my trolling motor when smythley doesn't have Structure Scan at all yet. Karma is a *bleep* -Brian

Brian, Glad he made it right! I bit the bullet and just ordered a new one. Hopefully it will be in the boat for next weekend.
