Ok I primarily chase the green fish and want to use a braid line on my spinning reels this year to help out my finesse fishing. Are there any brands that I should avoid?...what brands do y'all like??
Thanx

I don't chase the greenfish, but on my reels I do NOT like the Fireline Crystal - at least the spool I got in the 15 lb test range - was stiff and felt like dental floss.

I just started using this stuff; www.basspro.com/Seaguar-Smackdown-Tournament-Braid-150-Yards/product/1308200726418/I've only fished it for a few hours so far and haven't even caught anything on it yet so I can't really provide a real good recommendation but I will say that it's thinner than any other braid I've found so far, it casts really well on both a spinning rod & baitcaster & is less noisy going through the guides than most of the other braid I've tried. The 10# line is the dia of 2# mono. For finesse fishing this spring, I'm going to try using the 10# without a flouro leader as well as a rod with flouro leader to see if it makes a difference. I'm hoping that since the line is sooo thin I can get away with not having to use a flouro leader. Oh yeah, I've had the same experience with Fireline as mward, don't care for it.

Diawa Samurai braid 12, 15 or 18lb works really good with mono or fluro leaders. I ve been using this braid for 3 years and have had very good results.
