catching any LM? Seems like the striper guys are having a large time. I'm headed back to the lake on Dec 31st & gonna try something totally different than I have the past 4 winters at SML based off a Master's thesis I read about bass on Table Rock lake. Very interesting and totally opposite of anything else I've read or heard for fishing highland reservoirs in the winter. I'll pass on my results if there are any other LM fishermen interested... The thesis can be found here; web.missouri.edu/~paukertc/theses/JasonHarris.pdfBassgold.com always relates Table Rock with SML since they're both highland reservoirs and on pretty much the same latitude.

Need help. Got a new boat this fall. Had a lot of fun fishing docks with senkos and shakey head trick/finess worms. Did real well thru the beginning of December. Last weekend absolute blank on the docks. Saw a lot of fish on creek channels and humps but no luck getting anything to bite. Tried tx rig worms, double tail hula grubs, trick worms, finess worms. No luck not even a bite. Tried jigging with a tx rig fluke, no luck. Any advice on sub 50 degree water temps. Much appreciated. Thanks.

I've seen days when you could get them shallow on a shallow crankbait, Throw a blk an blue jig on 10lb flourocarbon, gotta tame your hookset. Have got them texas rigging trick worms and baby brushhogs on 8lb flourocarbon. I get a lot more bites on light line in winter.Slow rolling a bait works as well as a #7 shad rap craked sloooow, then slow it down.

Yup, a drop shot or C-Rig makes sense especially if you're marking them near the bottom but they're not biting a TX rig...

Jerkbaits, blade baits, jigs..drop shot..all should work during the winter.

OK, I suck. I fished over New Years, notta. I fished 3 days this past weekend & again didn't catch squat. I've been up & down Gills Creek, Bull Run, Little Bull Run, All over the islands and submerged humps near the S turns in the black water & the mouth of Bull Run, Parkway Marina, over by the Damn, etc... Fished Rip Rap, lay downs, submerged standing trees, underwater brush piles on channel swings, & points, you name it, I pretty much fished it. I tried every kinda lure, you can think of from an A-Rig, swim baits, crankbaits, Jerkbaits, jig, shakeyhead, dropshot with 6# flouro on submerged humps, a shakeyhead & drop shot together, even slow rolled a spinner bait from 5' to 40'. I had a couple of bumps last Sunday while my jerkbait was sitting still but not even one real bite. I know the water was still cold & believe it or not, the warmest water I could find was 45 degrees in a cove almost next to the damn which was also the clearest. Gills Creek was really muddy and only 42. But still I've got to be doing something wrong or missing something even with the water this cold, I know people are still catching them... Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I got nothing....the air/ water temps .... I can't get motivated to go....hard for me to think about it till the water hits 50..... Leesville bass masters are having their 1st tourney Sunday at pen hook....I'm gonna pass on it.... I may be up there fishing and just generally giving the boat a shake down run

Fishing is tough for everyone right now. Only 3 out of 21 boats had a limit in an open tournament yesterday.

Thanks, I was just curious heading into the Anglers Choice event this weekend - which is weird to think about with all of this snow outside (I live near Harrisonburg).
