I am bumping this old thread I started several months ago as I am now looking at a Scout 240 Bay. It is a 2005 model with a Yamaha 225 with just over 300hrs. Does anyone have any knowledge they can share about this boat? The only real negative I have learned from reading has been the poor scupper design.
Thanks in advance to all that respond.

That's kind of low hours on a 2005 - I'd certainly plan to change the water pump if it has not had one recently and do a good service on it - how long since it has been used? Idle time is almost worse than lots of hours - but if it has seen regular use and service then it may be a find. A 225 sounds about right sized for a 24' bay boat. You might want to check out these sites that are more boating specific. bayboatforum.proboards.comwww.thehulltruth.com

Mward, I think I have read every thread on the hull truth and a few other sites but was not aware of the bay boat forum. This is the typical story of the person that bought the boat to fish with his grandson. He sees his grandson 3-4 times a year, and now that his grandson is a teenager, fishing is not what he looks forward to doing. The boat has been stored inside and used for a weekend ride about a half dozen times per year. It is out of state and I haven't seen it yet but it sounds attractive. It was just serviced to prep for sale.
Again, thanks for any input.
