Fished the upper Roanoke today. All fishing was off main channel. Drug crank baits across rocky points early in the evening. Then lizards and worms off logs and structure, pig n jigs against rock walls. Lost one on a crank when a pleasure boat buzzed me and nearly threw me overboard. Guy pre-fishing for a tourney tomorrow slid in and asked me where they are. I just laughed. He said he put in at State Park and caught three dinks all day.
Where are they this time of year?
