Coming the last week in sept and staying in moneta......near r27. Have only fished sml in may near the dam. Any advice on the bass that time of year? Not looking for honey holes just general advice.
Also I usually like to catch a mess of white perch to cook up......will they be pm that far that time of year? Thanks in advance.

They should be schooling, early am around the bridge , mid lake around the islands, blackwater around x-mas tree island, chrome or clear zara spook jr. Flukes and pop-r's do well too.

I always done well too if they are not schooling, throwing a shakey head up under docks, crankbaits on points also. You may find them schooling in places and they come up, off and on all day. Couple years ago a friend and myself were setting in 140 ft. of water catching 3-4 lb. smallies on spooks. During the same time hit some docks and caught a pile on the shakey head, 3/16 jig head and a green pumpkin trick worm on 10 lb. floro. Anywhere you find rows of docks, real good set of them near the bridge, for us 12-14 ft. was the magic depth range. We normally junk fish til we can get somewhat of a pattern going (or not). Good luck to ya.

That time of year is tough more most bass fisherman it seems. I never have been lucky enough to get into the schooling action, so I usually just end up fishing docks with a drop shot and shaky head.

the drop shot will be your best friend. as will black and white crankbaits or black and chrome. and pearl/white flukes t-rigged...
Also, i like a drop shot for the perch, except i will downsize hooks to a small gamakatsu splitshot/dropshot hook and bait them with night crawlers, the white and yellow perch seem to love this. they come around in schools off my uncles dock, such a blast on lightweight gear. i bought some of the tiny ratl traps hoping the perch would love them but no such luck. at first in this cove they were tiny, every year i catch bigger and bigger perch now, starting to approach 10 or more inches in the last year or two...
