Here is a little report/info..... I fished a tourney this past sat night out of gills creek inwich I won with a total weight of 15.75 lbs and the biggest Largemouth was 4.28. I found a few spots that seem to be holding a lot of fish over the last several weeks and typically where I have fared well this time of year the bass are not cooperating.. I managed to figure out a very key bit of info on my own.. That being said, I watch the current lake level on a hourly basis jus before I fish. here lately its been fluctuating almost 2 feet. That don't seem like much but when the bass feed at night they like somewhat of a quick escape route to deeper water in case of something spooking them. If the water level is 794.20 feet I know exactly where the bass will be feeding on the banks. If the water level is 792.50 I then know not to fish my (794.20) spot cause they want be there because the crevices they like to get into to ambush prey are either above water or jus to shallow. Anyway without blowing my current pattern out of the water by curtailing to much info, I noticed a change in the bite over the last few weeks, I caught 11 bass in the tourney and none on top water for the first time in four weeks. I caught them on a noisy .......shhhhhh!!!! Lol.. shllow running crank bait... wont be to long till the rage anaconda green pumpkin worm bite is on at night..good fishing boys..

Loving these reports! Keep em coming. I mainly night fish during the hottest part of the summer (July/August) and catch some fish, but never seem to get on them that good.

During the hot months all I throw at night is a 12_15 ft iradescent green pumpkin crank bait on main channel points and that's where I pick up my 5 fish limits every tourney.. sometimes you catch good weight other times you may not have but 10 lbs.. I personally love the crank bait bite when your slow retreiving it at a depth of 10 ft. And then you jus feel like you run the bait into a rock then the rock starts to fight and BINGO.....GAME ON!! BASS FISHING AT NIGHT IS WHERE ITS AT!!

Congrats and thanks for the report. Guess that explains a lot of the boats we saw in Bulls Run / lower Blackwater. We talked to one guy that I guess was fishing in that tourney.

Cranks are one thing that I've never had much confidence in. I'll be sure to give them a try this year.
