We were fishing the Optimist Tournament Sat afternoon in a creek with not much boat traffic coming through. I was against the left bank with three planer boards against that bank and nothing to my right side. A boat coming from behind me appears to be heading to pass me on the right and then he all the sudden goes to my left bank side. We started waving and he keeps coming. I blow the horn to try to get his attention and he slows down enough to say, "I'm not going to the other side, you M***** ******'* can't take up the whole lake." Now keep in mind, it was clear to my right side, which is usually the side most boaters travel down anyways. I can understand someone thinking that my boards are taking up a lot of area, but I tried to direct him to the clear side, which most people have no problem with. This guy refused to go the right. We said "give us a second and we'll clear the..." He lays the hammer down and runs over all three lines right in front of him. My outside board broke right off. He emptied my inside two reels and drug one of my boards all the way to his dock clanking off his outboard. He got out and went up the hill before we got over there to cut my planer off. We had gotten in a few choice words to him though. Then he starts taking pictures of us from up there like we did something to his boat while getting my planer board.
I've had people run over my boards many times, but most all of them were by accident. The people just didn't see them usually, which is understandable in a lot of cases. This guy clearly saw them. Just plowed right on through for the heck of it. Not much you can say about somebody like that...

You have to wonder why some people are mad at the world. There's not a time I'm on the water and not completely relaxed. Its a big lake and there's plenty of room for everyone even IF you are taking up a lot of room in one very small part of it. I'm surprised he went back to his dock with your board, that's pretty bold.

"you M***** ******'*" Apparently this feller already knew ya'll!!! Seriously that guy needs to go see Biguns shrink. Was those two spools of line wrapped up good in his prop? If so I hope you didn't cut it out! ;D

Wow! I didn't think I'd see that kind of behavior on the lake. That guy was taking a real risk IMHO. What if you were armed and ready??? Seriously, I hope I never encounter anyone like that. A friend of mine on the lake had a similar experience. He mentioned that he was coming into the dock and passed by a boat that didn't appear to have any lines out. Apparently he got cursed at profusely. He docked his boat and the next day he noticed the line to his transducer was cut, and that the cut couldn't be repaired because it was so close to the leading edge of the wire. The next day the same guys who cut the wire came trolling through the bay and saw my friend and started laughing at him as they trolled through.
Dangerous business IMO.

Give it time. You'll get idiots like that. I hope that P.O.S. is reading this. He's probally a queer with the attitude of a yankee. No reason at all for actions like that. I hope he ruins the seals and locks up the lower unit miles away from his dock from two spools of fishing line...
Makes no sense to me why people have to act in that way. Ive had people do that to me, one guy actually wanted to settle it on the bank... i laughed.. told him to tie up to my boat if he wanted me to kick his ass... had another guy in gills creek near the pillings at the shoal actually bring his shot gun onto his dock and confront me just beacause i was trying to catch bait at his dock light... i laughed at him as well. Told him he better make his first shot count...

Hey Bentrod, if you got his boat number call it in to the Sheriff's office and the game warden. They'll start a record on him that could catch up to him. We rented a house a few years back and had something similar happen. Called it in and the sheriff sent a deputy by the next day with a warning of "reckless endangerment". At least that's what they told us on the phone.

That is unbelievable. I can't imagine anyone would do that unless they had mental issues. Steer clear of him. I am just sorry you had to be the on that came in contact with him. You know he is probably like this to everyone. What a miserable life people have when they come in contact this this idiot.

I believe it was a rental property. I fish in that area a lot and haven't noticed that particular boat around much. I don't wanna say the boat on here because I know there are 2-3 other boats that match the description of it well and I know it wasn't those guys. Maybe PA Ken can keep an eye on it for me when he comes down.

In a situation like that I would not hesitate to go get his boat numbers and report him to the VDGIF. It would probably be best that you contacted them before retrieving the boards.
I try to keep my board within 50 feet of my boat in creeks because it is illegal for them to be on plane coming past me within that distance.
If only people realized it is a federal offence to interfere with a legal hunt or fishing in progress. Cutting your line intentionally is interfering without a question; I am sure all of you would agree.
