I've only tried to catch bait in Bull Run once out of curiosity bc I was told for years there wasn't much bait in there. This was last March and the end result was it was stacked full of gizzards - we took the one telling us there was no bait with us as a witness! I'm tempted to ride over again and see now - what do you say Yam?! Wanna go on a bait catching field trip? That next weekend after that myself and gator threw all morning in there and couldn't come up with anything...haha Lower lake bait is tough. I have got bait in bull run but i prefer to chase bait from standiford up if possible. I now have a key to the magnum ramp so i won't be fooling with the lower end of the lake much anymore except for the spawn. I myself don't care for that part of the lake much.

What about up towards the Ponderosa? During our small bass tournament, there were some baits flipping in the deeper waters.

There was a TON of bait up in the Ponderosa area in the fall. Huge clouds of 3-5 inch gizzards with some larger stuff sprinkled in.
It kind of disappeared for a while and I checked up that may maybe 3 weekends ago and didnt see much but it could have moved back in there.

I've seen plenty of big bait above ponderosa. Good luck getting in there most days though.
