Things sure have been quiet on this site the last 4 months. Is the site dying out or is the fishing that bad this year? I miss reading the fish stories. I haven't gone as much this year because of kid functions. When I have gone the fishing was bad. I know it's a bad year when my buddy jigging Dave who lives on the lake says it is bad. BTW I will soon be selling a 21' Hydra Sport CC w/ Yamaha 150. Wife has finally talked me into a Tri toon. Heck of a good boat with trailer. I'm going to listed on the site first before I put it on craigslist. I would like to give someone on here who needs a good fishing boat the opportunity first. Someone please tell me if it's worth getting up in the morning to go do some jigging or should I just sleep in and hit the river?

It's the summer doldrums - happens most summers unless we manage to get a good argument going about something or we start doing counting posts I know a number are still fishing on a regular basis but perhaps concerned about posting being perceived that they shouldn't be - I've got no issue with anyone fishing and catching their limit this time of year and wild enjoy the reports as well. I've just been too lazy to be honest to get out in the heat and many weekends didn't have a plan together till last minute and this would have been just me and wasn't worth the worth it to roll out and try to catch 2 and head back - fished July 4th weekend and then the other weekend (both times aboard the EarlyRiser I think). But get ready - Fall's gonna be here soon and will be making up for lost time!

It's worth getting up to do some jigging, for sure. Went last weekend and found a few. First stop we found a pretty decent school. Although we couldn't get them to bite and we lost the school. Moved up the BW and found some more scattered fish in the back of a major creek and managed to catch 4 fish with 3 being keepers. Had some throttle issues with my boat so, we cut it short.
mward, you were on the boat when I was suddenly speared the other night. Right?

Ha - yeah, that's right - didn't catch anything that night myself so I'd already forgotten about that trip quick Tip - always wear steel toed shoes when LiveBait JunkEE is landing dink catfish into the boat

This happens every summer, it's just to hot for a lot of people to fish, and the fishing isn't all that great for the effort, and the boat traffic. Also, I think alot of folks are spending their time on Faceebook, instead of these type of forums. I've noticed the slowdown of participation in many forums, even before summer arrived. I guess that's progress???

Me personally - I just haven't been fishing much. I am a recreational fisherman and choose not to fish when I can't release the fish back. Therefore I spend more time swimming from the dock, pulling my daughter and her friends on tubes/wakeboards etc. Mid June thru Late August is family time at the lake for me....the rest of the year is for fishing.

I just have not been fishing at the lake lately! I can't wait to come back up in September.

That's why I switch over to summertime flatheads (nite fishing) from late July-mid September.
