Boat came in yesterday. Went fishing with my brother. We work together and I never got him to bass fish with me so I was excited to get him out. Normally wouldn't have fished this morning but wanted to start dialing everything in. Got up at 4:30 to throw at my light but it was pouring and blowing. Decided to use some jumbos and bluegill I got yesterday evening since I had no confidence my live well would even keep them alive and I've never put out lines without a guide. Pulled out the boat went to put down the trolling motor and realized the batter on the remote was dead. Hooked up the foot pedal. Not great but could at least move the boat around. Started putting lines out right in front of our house. Made the mistake of putting the downs out first. Almost got a couple of the boards Hung up while getting them out. Started marking a bunch of fish and a jumbo actually got hit on the way out on a board. Finally got four boards four downs a free line and a float out. Took a little bit but but we were proud we got everything out without any major problems so that was a win. Foot pedal sucks. Trolled around in front of or house for about 2 hours marking scattered fish all morning. Finally a windy squall and frustration with the foot pedal chased us off. We did get a hit with a jumbo on a down line. Then on the way back to the house a board got hit.

Off to CVS to get a battery for the remote. Got back and got it synced up pretty quickly. Went back out to a spot I have been jigging fish up pretty regularly this summer. Got 10 lines out quick. Very proud of ourselves. Marked a lot of scattered fish. Had a lot of fish come right up to our downs, no hits. Wasn't surprised. Knew our bait sucked. Got one hit on a board. Ended up hanging two down lines in a tree. It was nasty so we decided to call it a day. Overall love my new boat. Trolling motor and chart are awesome. Fishes 10 last news pretty easily. Got my brother to go out with me. Just need to get the stink off it. The first fish is always the hardest.

By the way. I've fished some nasty cold weather before but today was the first time I've never seen another boat. It was nasty. Kind of cool.

Congratulations on your new boat. You will get them next time. I had a lot of fish follow my down lines the other day and only caught a flathead. I was using small gizzard shad.
