My original plans for the weekend didn't involve fishing but with the rain I was able to get out for a while on Sunday. Since the temps have been lower and Fall is here I loaded my bait tank on the boat and hit the water early. AT was 58 and WT was 70.5 and even noticed it as low as 68.3 in one spot with 10-15 mph winds throughout the day. I tossed my Wade net 5 or 6 times and had a mixed bag of bait to start the morning with. I pulled 4 boards and 2 light lines. The wind and rain was wreaking havoc on me and I just couldn't stay dry with the sideways rain. I caught 2 small fish on light lines out the back and had one planer get some attention but no hook up. I forgot to engage my clicker on one of my light line rods and that was the rod that hooked up the first fish. I turned around and noticed the rod bent over double, picked it up and had a fish on. Remember to turn your clickers on, Gator. Beats working though!!

I was out on Sunday too. I had my lighter rain gear with me and I couldn't stay dry as well. My bones are still cold! My new rule is if it rains all day, use a heavy winter raincoat. Thick poly and keep the hood up and tight.
I caught some smaller fish with down lines but had some action on the mongos. Several pullbacks when I would go off course or change speeds dramatically.
Felt good to hear the smack of a mongo as you throw em out behind the boat! Won't be long before them pullbacks turn into surface smacks and sailing planers!

It was a semi warm day. It then started to rain and I put the jacket on over my wet clothes. I didn't bother with it immediately because it was warm outside. I ended the evening having trouble speaking. The lesson I am learning here is the importance of staying dry underneath. I have braved torrential downpours in 30 degree weather and not felt one chill. Key was.. Layers and never removing my thick outer jacket if it was raining. But even a little water on the inside is protected by the layers underneath. 60 degree weather, one layer and a thin jacket equals ... Sucks!

How long are the measuring boards? Looks like a bigger boat may be needed or a ski rack to carry the measuring board. Looks like high expectations.....60+pounds and 54 inches.

Lol I was thinking the same thing. That thing would fly out of my boat. Heck it might even cause some boats not to plane out. Lol.

yeah - 44 and 7/8 on the inside measurement - 45" outside. 4" wide. 3" "bump tab" Some reptilian creature helped with the hook-up to get them cut & bent. 4'x10' goods - figured no point in the extra work to shear a few inches off the length - 41"+ fish have come out of the lake and sure didn't want someone catching one in the tournies and the board not being long enough.... of course if it was, they probably won We eased the corners and edges of 30 boards so no one cuts themselves or dings up their nice gel-coat - still have a bunch of stickers to put on, but for a few done.

LivebaitJunkEE gets most of the credit for working with the graphics folks... I just provided the non-ending reviews/edits and then the physical labor
