no offense taken.... I either read your post wrong or you took mine wrong..... I was just trying to say to folks not to get aggravated and give up just because they see folks catching fish and they are not doing as good because they are new. I appreciate that you joined the site and are posting !!!!!! was afraid my post would sound boastful is why I put off posting it.......

no sir primetime.... I understand. Communication can be difficult at times. I don't want to come off boastful either. That's why I post when I catch fish and when I don't catch fish. The members on the forum do everything but put you in the boat and take you to the fish. Again, I am very thankful for the help

Quoted from biguns post"it does make you more productive and consistent in your catch and is what folks see in the reports posted.... which can be a bit deceiving....and make folks who are new to the lake and/or striper fishing pull their hair out and second guess everthing they do and try...... we all have to get out and look for fish...SML is a big lake and can be a bit overwhelming ..... time on the water narrows where to look, and makes it seem like some are better fisherman than others"
Very well said bigun, this is what I've ment when I have said time on the water will teach more than anything. It is hard to get self confident in what you are doing without doing it own your own.heck I have been at this for over 30 years and I still second guess myself sometimes, but I know where id look next or what I would try next. I can rember starting out,(not living near a good striper lake)just wanting to catch one, then wanting to catch a hundred in a year, then wanting to catch a 20 pounder,it seemed like the hardest fish in the world to catch, now it seems like one of the most easy. TO the new guys; with hard work and dedication you cant help but learn to catch them consently, with all the info shared on this site and others, and I have to admit im a little jelous because all this info was not out there years ago, so be sure to respect the fish and fisherys. Best of luck to all, good times ahead

Prime time- rumor has it....and it may not be more myth then truth....that Gator keeps a stringer of exactly 9 stripers hIdden somewhere in the lower BW/BR area. That stringer represents the entire fishery for that part of the lake. On rare occasions he releases his charges and coaxes them back to the boat with an odd assortment of plastic concoctions, on strange swivel and armed rigs with multi colored schemes. It's a weird scene. They readily rise to offered jigs whenever prompted. This entire ceremony takes place with Gator sporting a large cowboy hat. MWard caught wind of this phenomena and spent countless hours scouring the BW wasteland in an effort to locate the " stringer of 9" ....to no avail. He eventually gave up in frustration ( and huge line tangles) and returned to the more traditional hunting grounds of the upper R. Big un insists the stringer doesn't exist and adds this believe to the " peanuts catch just as good a mongoes theory"...nobody knows the truth. Yam knows no lake boundaries....he claims no knowledge of the 9 but can be found in odd, out of the way coves ....spinning lazily with his Auto Anchor engaged ....napping. Is he sleeping or planning? Hard to say when it comes to Yam. Does any of this help?

Lund1, hahaha, that is great. Nothing but good fun. Now I know what to look for if I'm ever on the darkside. If you see a boat over there with primetime on the side of the boat I'm looking for the stringer for mward. Haha thanks lund1
