I had a few hours Sat. morning to fish so I headed out about 6:00am. WT83. I had not fished in a few weeks so I headed to an area I had been hearing about a few fish being caught. Using a mix of planers, light lines and down lines, I had a planer go off just a few minutes after I set it. This was about a 4lb. catfish and he had no problem going back in. The next was a planer on a free line. Turned out to be a nice 5LB green back. Returned to water no problem. A float goes next 15 min. later with a larger 6LB green back. Things slowed down then for the next hour and deeper planer board goes off with a 20" dink. I finally go over a nice bait ball at the mouth of a creek and the outside planer goes off pulling drag. After a nice fight, he's done and it is a 30" striper. He is wasted so I keep him. I turned around, the the bait had spead out and no takers.
Nice morning. Quiet for the most part until about 9:00am. After 10:00 I head back to the house.
