My original plan was to go out on Saturday morning. I didn't get out until Sunday evening. Hate when things don't go the way I plan. Although, I was able to catch a pro giving striper fishing tips and how to toss a cast net lessons, Saturday morning.
The reports you are hearing about BR are true. There are fish holding in BR AND the rest of the lake. I trolled a u-rig for less than 30 minutes and had a 2 fish limit. 25.5" and 26". I hated to call it a day after 2 quick fish but I did. I trolled green hammers (5") with a solid white trailer (5"). Both fish bit the trailer. Speed was 2.7 to 3.1 mph.

Appreciate the folks that call it quits after a quick limit in the summer though!

Appreciate the folks that call it quits after a quick limit in the summer though! Gotta admit that it really does give you a sense of satisfaction and that works for me. Ego or not.

Nice report Gator. The idea of slow trolling U Rigs sure sounds appealing to me. A lot less fuss. I'm enjoying learning the art ( and challenges) of bait fishing but coming home at 2AM covered in scales and gizzard slime can get a little old sometimes. Especially when you're committed to a stop at your limit philosophy. I think it's time to rig up some URigs for a summer time change of pace.

I enjoy fishing u-rigs in the higher WT's and fishing gizzards when the water temp is down. You can sure cover some water with u-rigs. To me it's not worth getting to the lake b4 daylight, getting bait, catching 2 fish and bolting. BTW, I'm not calling you lund1 anymore. It's NauticStar!!

Quick question, have seen reference to "BR". What or where is this. Thank you.

BR is Bull Run. Gator keeps 5-10 fish in that area at all times.
