Thanks for all the advice guys... We hit craddock creek and the Damn hard yesterday... We were out from 7 till that monster storm hit... Didn't land a thing... We have been using 5 inch green shade with glow in the dark jigs on umbrella rig with a blue one trailing.... Lost 2 in past week...Definetly need to get a line 8retriever...tried downlining large minnows from captains quarters with no luck... Did invest in a green led light to try and start catching own bait... We are in a 17 ft Boston whaler center console.... We will be on the look out for everybody from on here

My formula: 65# braid + 65 LFT. of line out + 2.65 mph ( my boat in gear) = trolling depth of about 18' That keeps me out of the trees most of the time! Wake and wind will be cause for adjustments in speed to raise or lower the rig. Great info

I'd say to head away from the lower basin to catch the stripers right now. Head up around Christmas Tree, or the State Park. There are typically plenty of fish in those areas this time of year, at least enough to get you some bites. These are the areas I taught myself to troll artificials, and it was this time of year. Caught plenty.
