My girlfriend and I fishing the morning 7 am-12 . We had beautiful weather with partly cloudy skies and a breeze. Later the wind got up some. WT was 80 - 82 and clear. We looked around for some fish to jig on. We found a few with the sonar but had no takers. A lot of other boats around that area so we moved. Finally after searching several different locations (Bingo) we ran up on a far sized school with lots of bait balls in the area. It was to windy and rough to jig when we found them, so we trolled artificial lures. We had six hookups with four boated one came unbuttoned and one cut line. Two fish @ 28-29" and two @ 24" limit was reached and done. I sure wish I could catch whatever keeps cutting my lines, musky most likely. The rod bows with a fast buzz from the bait clicker then gone. That's the second time since last September in this same area. I may start using some short wire or steel leader. Anyway it was a good morning. And if you guys have not tried striper blackened with Cajun seasoning , you should. It will make you smack yo lips for more.

Sounds like a fun day. I will be up tomorrow for a weeks vacation. You care to share where you were catching them? Would love to see the kids catch a few

Jenks, I fire up the sonar and start burning gas looking. These fish move constantly.... here now go in five minutes. Some of the other guys that have been doing this for a while would be better suited to ask for locations. Besides hunting them down yourself is half the fun. I would get a good map and study it with the kids. Good luck!
PS: Look under General Discussion/reports and on to How 2' s, Slightly Insane has a great post on seasonal movements and general areas. Remember the time lines aren't written in stone and can overlap.
