So you think posting pictures of fish caught in one creek and implying they were caught in Blackwater is not deceptive? Think about it.

I merely wanted him to understand that he should do his own research like many of us have. Mosts reports are deceptive in the location of where fish were caught, thats just our(fishermans) nature to protect our spots. Thus it is disinformation is it not?

I don't know what example you're speaking of but the "Blackwater" thing has long been a running joke and I'm sure it was meant as such. Sorry to be an ass but I don't think you should be spreading unfounded accusations on the site. You stated there's guides posting misleading information - what guide has posted a report in the last year? I don't see anybody intentionally giving misleading information to Striperbinge - hell how could you right now anyways - there's fish top to bottom and anywhere in between?! 2013Skiffs post about fishing with Todd in Craddock was not a lie, so I don't know where the guide thing is coming from otherwise.

It's not intentionally misleading someone to another location.

Well I disagree with you. I've taken heat on here when I've posted a report and stated specifically where I've caught fish. Yes I know when you do that "the fleet" will show up because I'm sure we have x number of lurkers on here that use our information but don't share theirs. But folks who travel a long way here to fish also get an idea of where the fish are and what they're doing. I and many others don't have the luxury of going down to our dock and loading up our bait tank to go fish at daylight. I leave my house at 3-4am drive 1 and 1/2 hours, then try to get bait before prime fishing time (daylight) happens, many times I've thrown that damned net 50-60 times and have a few shad to show for it. But when I do get bait, if someone had given me a heads up as to where they had caught fish a day or so beforehand then I'd have a better idea where to go. I personally think that's a good thing to do. As far as guide disinformation, I was actually referring to the previous website and perhaps I should have stated that, to date this hasn't occurred on here to my knowledge. For that if I've offended your sensibilities about this site I apologize. Okay I'm done.

W As far as guide disinformation, I was actually referring to the previous website and perhaps I should have stated that, to date this hasn't occurred on here to my knowledge. thanks for clarifying that point StriperJohn.... perhaps it has happened here, but I don't now of any deliberate attempts to tell folks they caught fish on one part of the lake when they actually caught them elsewhere - well, other than our good natured ribbing between the Roanoke & Blackwater side about how there are no fish on one side or the other - or the time I posted the pics of one of the dams from TN and a few big TN river fish which I said I caught in Beaver Dam - which was clearly a joke to all. Perhaps someone posting didn't say anything about location, or perhaps they posted pics of fish they caught somewhere, and separately when asked about patterns suggested other areas from that - but from all I can recall, those recommendations were valid and not misleading - you could go there and catch fish. We don't want folks thinking this site is designed to spread mis-information and that the posts are all BS. The information shared here is 1st rate and its one of the best communities I've run across - perhaps too good sometimes, but so be it. A lot of folks still seem to think ALL the fish move together in one big pile, all at one time. Maybe our lake has some unique attributes about it with the two river heads but then the dam with its pumpback system - but you truly can find fish all over the lake most of the year if you know the right type of structure/water/etc to target. It may not be as "rich" in quantity, but sometimes better in quality - or vice-versa - just depends what you're seeking. So like we've all said now - the best tactic is not not chase reports, but learn from each one - take what you can from them, what you've learned elsewhere and form your own opinion and go catch those fish.... Hope we see more of striperbinge. Like others have said - I liked his passion.... just also hope it wasn't a "drive by", but if so, hey, so be it. Someone on another forum I know vouched for him and reached out on his behalf to get him pointed in the right direction as well.... I think all the info folks gave him on the board was solid - and I know he got some direct points via PMs as well. This is a good community that does generally go out of their way to help a fellow fisherman. I certainly hope nothing happened that cut his trip short in terms of illness/injury/etc. Perhaps the conditions made him decide the trip wasn't worth it.... can't believe how dirty the water is.... had to go down to the bridge to get decent water to put in the bait tank and even that was still dingy. Or, perhaps he just dropped his phone in the lake and is going to wonder what all the drama is about when he gets back online See you down-lake tomorrow morning

Nice work sir.

Yep, would've taken me a month to come up with that response and in the end it would have sounded like I was telling someone to go .(*&^)( themselves.
BTW, they aren't on the BW.

He definitely has missed his calling, and probably is wasting his talent on here .... I'm thinking UN Peace Keeper talent. I know I make it tough on him sometimes but I hope he knows how much he is appreciated on here, ... he always speaks with compassion and from the heart..... a rare talent that no class could teach...... BTW, oh yes they are

BTW, oh yes they are Can't be Bigun. I seem to be the only one fishing that side. Just look at the reports. I can unequivocally say that I did not catch one fish on the BW last Saturday. But I sure am itching for some fishing on the BW. Got a rodeo tomorrow night and just might slip out in the morning and then go fishing.
