Greetings,*-
So I now have to attend church twice this Sunday on account of the wind.. but such is life. I actually talked to a friend who was at work while I was complaining. Thoughts of working vs floating around chasing stripes..I got over myself.
4/20 - Got in to the campground around 6pm and headed out to scout the night before fishing. My little fish and ski was no match for the gale force winds but figured what the hell. Checked throughout Craddocks with little to nothing to show for it. Water temps right around 58-59 deg. Decided to let the storm/wind pass and put out a bait light . About 10:30 the wind died and the bait moved in pretty good. Put a hundred nice ales in and decided to hit banks with artificial. Didnt hear much of anything but had one nice LMB nail my lure around midnight. I did see what I assume was bigger bait moving into the mouth of Craddocks.
4/21 Put in around 7 am undecided where I wanted to started. Decided to stay close to home and pull banks for a few hours. NADA. Water became increasingly muddy as the day wore on so i headed to the dam area . Saw a boat in Elmos and another on the island so I tried Witchers. Pulled banks , NADA. Finally drifted back closer to home and pulled main channel/points and found magic. Actually only boated 5-6 with the largest pushing 11 lbs but missed countless others. No doubt if I had an anchor I would have been on a :BUNCH of fish. I get on the school land a fish then be blown 10 miles down river and have to pull lines and start all over again...
Strange site for the day. Was reeling in my nice fat fish for the day when I see it being chased buy something. Low and behold this was a female in which several males were trying to spawn with here..even while I had her lipped...dang they were some horny bastards. I saw the guide (I assume) mentioned anchored up but did nt stick around to see him catch 41. Water continued to darken as the day and wind wore on with temps ending around 62 deg.
