And the hits just keep coming yam ! Still laughing. The throwers that roll the net into the water seem to do better than the ones that make the big splash. Just saying Sent from my XT1080 using proboards My bowling ball always landed halfway down the lane too. Roll it... Hmmmm.

We've all be there - myself just the weekend before last as the wind was pushing us down the channel at 10 miles an hour. Nathan was trying to undo a monofilment sweater that had been woven when a fish took out a few other boards and I'm standing out on the swim platform trying to cut and extract 100 yards of mono off the prop as the wind is pushing us towards a couple of fellows fishing in a pontoon, giving me the eye the closer we got........ A tip I learned was that you put the motor in gear (when off) when pulling the TM and the prop won't spin and suck line up into it....... however on the "throttle by wire" Yamaha's with electronic controls, I've not figured out how to do this yet... if anyone knows my prop seals will certainly thank you. Great tip! I knew the prop didn't spin when the throttle is pushed forward but didn't consider this. Funny.. I was on the swim platform as well hanging onto the lower unit with one hand... Hmmmm.. And I thought it was only me. I bet Cool Hand Luke, BKA Bentrod never has these days? My biggest learning lessons from this trip were... 1. Determination is good but can also drive you into the ground. 2. Your life will end eventually just like your current fishing outing. As a result, ceasing the moment is a good thing... But overdoing and pressing any moment for too much can take a potentially terrific day and turn it into a catastrophe.

AHHH HAAA! So the real story comes out that Mward and Bent and company are actually like the rest of us e.g. tangles and foulups etc! I had two buds fishing the back of my boat when I was using Power Pro braid, we had a runaway "freight train" (huge fish) take the bank side planer and come across all other planers lines and one float and one freeline so fast they were all tangled. We landed the fish nice 37 inch 22lber. The guys were messing around with the tangle and I was getting frustrated wanting to get lines back into the water. They held up a ball of tangle almost the size of a soccer ball and said "hey as$#%@e uh Captain-- you want a try at it!" Never mind and handed them my knife!

Yam, sounds like the problem was that you desperate needed to catch a fish that day for your kid.

I already learned that I seldom have any luck when I really want to catch a fish. But I have yet to figure out how to feel this way when newcomers, especially my son, come aboard. A problem that waits for a solution.
