Late report from 4/10-4/12.
Members of the Jordan Lake Striper Club were up last weekend. Had one member there most of the week, the rest mostly Friday-Sunday, I think a total of seven boats.
Most caught fish, but not quite as good as previous outings. I caught some Friday morning in Beaver Dam but had some battery issues and lost some fishing time (and money) resolving. And then as per usual for us, the cold front blows in Friday afternoon and the wind howls on Saturday to make things tough.
Members of our group caught slot fish in Indian, Beaver, and somewhere above 75. Also some smaller fish from 60-64, and a few other places I'm sure.
I had several blowups on mongos but never got one hooked up with them.
I thought we were on to something Sunday morning back in Beaver Dam. Had two boards with giant alewives out, putting out the third when the first two got smashed. By the time we got those in and everything reset, we had a constant stream of a$$masters plowing by us and it was over.
Does SML have bluebacks? I wasn't sure if that's what these were or the biggest alewives I've seen.
Anyway, a good trip and always fun to fish SML. Hope to get back up there again soon.

maybe my 8-9 inch alewives I caught were a school of bluebacks? hearty baits I know that!

thanks Konaman..... tough conditions for that weekend for all.....
SML has some bluebacks that have been introduced. I think some of these really big "ales" are bluebacks. We had a big 8" one that we were fishing and when in clear water with the sun shining it's back was very blue (and I didn't have any BetterBait or ShadKeeper in my tank - which sometimes gives them a blue tinge).
