Wasn't able to hit the water until after 1 Saturday afternoon. Had a rodeo on Friday night and took one of my rodeo buddies with me on his first striper trip. I threw that damn cast net for three hours( which was about home much sleep I was working on) and was loving it. Ended up with a good mix of baits--ales, peanuts to mongos. Since there were a bunch of boats and jet skis I decided to think outside the box. Man did I guess right. We found several fish on planer boards from 18"-36.5" and one big smallmouth. The big shad were getting nailed but never did connect. All of the fish came on peanuts and big ales on the bank side boards. I never touched a rod and sat back and watched someone have the time of their life. When I was home and thinking about our day of fishing and how much fun he was having I realized that i completely forgot about all of the tangled lines we had. Sure was fun!! Got to admit, had a few good thoughts of CorneliaGale while I was out………...

Awesome report Gator - always fun to put someone new to striper fishing on some fish - good job! Sounds like you've adapted from artificial to bait fishing quite well

Sounds like you've adapted from artificial to bait fishing quite well It's an addiction not a adjustment. Happens as soon as you load your tank. If I get as bad as I have bull bucking in me---watch the hell out.
