Weather: Sunny, temps around 70 dropping to low 60's as sun set, light winds from NW Water: 48-50, visibility of maybe a foot - stained Techniques: money maker to large gizzards on Freeline planets (4) and a freeline float (1) Finally back on the water. After a long almost 2 weeks in CA & Asia, and a few days at home for quality time - I slid up to the lake Saturday afternoon to "check on things". Hit the water a bit after 4 and headed off in search of bait. Only had a handful of salt so had to break out some emergency Shad Keeper. Threw the net for a little over an hour and a half and put about 20-24 money-maker and larger gizzards in the tank along with a dozen larger "peanuts". Headed to my spot and started fishing about 7pm. Only had an hour or so but managed to hook up with a 32.5" / 13 lb striper on the float line. A bit further on up I missed a hookup on a planer board. Moved a bit further up get closer to an area which was productive in the Fall but found no action - the sun had set and I think the bite died. Just glad to be out there again. Going to try again in the morning on a different part of the lake.
