Great for ya'll,nice fish.I know I have little clout/post on this forum, heck this the first time I have I've ever posted on any forum(and most likely would not be posting now but im unable to fish sml as much as I used to)but I have found fish all the way to the dam this time of the year, when most of the fish are up the lake, sometimes after a cold muddy influx of water hits uplake the creeks on the lower end are warmer.I've spent a lot of time fishing alone since the fish kill.old friends say its not worth it any more, but I love it,miss it anyway.Never been one to call everybody I know to find the latest hotspot, something satisfying in finding your own fish it gives confidence in what your doing and hey if you strike out you still learned something. Torture on yam, torture on! I really appreciate your words and guidance.

I appreciate being able to to talk fishing with people as passionate about it as I am,but my reluctance to start posting comes from learning the hard way, years ago when I started chaseing stripers there was no forum, only a occasional write up here and there and tips from good people helped a lot,BUT nothing can teach anyone more than time on the water! Even though I'm pulling my camper out and not having a spot at sml anymore I still plan to fish it some, have been fishing small lakes closer to home the last couple years as I'm not able to get away (looking after parents in there upper 80's now)lord willing i'll be back. Best of luck to all.......kenny

Best of luck to all.......kenny No doubt... Time on the water is key! Thankfully, my job and more importantly, my wife, allow me to pursue my passion for fishing. This board has fueled my fire more and provided me with insight that has served me well. Along with learning, this board has provided me with a sense of community. I never feel alone on the water. And when I am not on the water, I am watching others and craving that next opportunity to slam a net on a bunch of mongos, stick a hook in their noses, slap them on the water, troll them out to the side, watch one surface, wait for the pull, swing, feel the weight, fight, net the fish, measure, weigh, picture and release. Hell Yeah!

Totally understand what you are saying, never thought I could get that from words on a screen from someone I have never looked in the eye,but feel the common ground here. Even lurking has helped not being around the lake and friends I have made there, think i'll call a few tonight
